Murder by Design on Netflix!!

Burgh Island, the home of Murder Mystery events, has retained us as their chosen Murder Mystery company for over fifteen years. The prestige and reputation of Burgh has piqued many companies’ interest, all wanting to use it as their backdrop. So we were delighted when Tiger Aspect Productions contacted us in February of 2021 and asked if we would consider being the murder mystery company featured in their forthcoming production of Jack Whitehall – ‘Travels with my father’ for Netflix. The previous adventures had seen the father and son team travel around the world, but this time, for their final outing, they would tour the length and breadth of the UK and visit places that were personal to them as a family and Burgh Island was on the itinerary, and that’s where we came in.

After numerous virtual meetings with Tiger’s production team, we dutifully arrived in the public car park overlooking Burgh Island – our lateral flow tests all checked as negative – on a beautiful April morning for the shoot.

We crossed to the Island and made the most of the weather to watch the team film the external scenes of the Whitehall’s on the Sea-Tractor.

The team set up inside, and we went through several scenes that, when edited, would stitch together as the murder story unfolded. There was the maid dusting in the bar, PC Bailey arriving to announce there was a murder, the lady of the house welcoming the guests and the dear old vicar who unobtrusively mingled with the glamourous guests before shockingly being found face down in his salad. It appears Hercule had suspected the wrong person!

I can’t tell you how the story ends and who the murderer is, but if you watch season five, episode one on Netflix, all will be revealed.

Of course, there is another way to find out, and that is to contact us and arrange for your very own murder mystery performance when you will discover ‘whodunnit’!

Hen do Murder Mystery Cardiff

1st call murder mystery were delighted to return to the Welsh capital of Cardiff this month.
They were invited to perform a murder mystery as a surprise for Kimberley’s hen party.
The chosen “scene of crime” was the perfectly located Angel Hotel, Castle street which is directly opposite the city’s proud centrepiece castle.
Once Kimberley and her friends were settled in the dining room 1st call’s PC bailey and assistant entered the room and sprung the big surprise. There can be no doubt that the hen girl was both surprised and delighted with her friends choice of party entertainment. The girls soon got stuck into solving the murderous plot  which was set in mid 1960s swinging London.
Everyone had a fun interactive evening.
Congratulations to Kimberly for her forthcoming wedding and 1st call murder mystery certainly look forward to  their next visit to the wonderful city of Cardiff.

Our guests have been raving about it ever since.

Julian, Chris and their fellow actors are simply fantastic. We hired them for a private event before the pandemic hit and the event had to be postponed by a whole year. They were very understanding and allowed us to move the booking without any hesitation. Totally stress free!
After waiting with huge anticipation for almost two years we were not disappointed. The murder mystery was executed brilliantly with so much humour and energy. They even worked our connection to the furniture industry into the storyline. Our guests have been raving about it ever since. We would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone and wish we lived closer so we could use them for all of our events!

All the best,
Lizzie

Such a fun and entertaining murder mystery event

Hi Julian,

My husband and I would like to thank 1st Call Murder Mystery for providing such a fun and entertaining murder mystery event at our wedding. We absolutely loved watching our guests carrying ‘dead bodies’ out of our wedding breakfast and passionately getting involved with the actors. It was a completely unique wedding breakfast experience and so many of our guests have commented on how much fun they had at our ‘alternative’ wedding.

Thank you again,

Claire

The murder mystery event was enjoyed by all

A big thank you to  1st call murder mystery

Their actors  attended our corporate event at Aston Gate Bristol and åentertained 180 people for almost 2 hours.

They utilised all of the space available to them and in this particular murder mystery format some of our colleagues became suspects in the activity which helped get people really involved.

The murder mystery event was enjoyed by all and brought humour as well as engagement/collaboration to our afternoon activity.

Many thanks

Beautiful Bath beats bungling Bailey

A beautiful grade 11 listed Georgian building, now one of the liveliest pubs in Bath was the setting on the weekend for an evening of murder, mystery and intrigue.

The Huntsman was the chosen venue for the hen do of Fern. Her sister and best friends wanted to add something both fun and a little different to the evenings proceedings so engaged 1st call murder mystery to surprise Fern with their popular”menu of murder.”

The story line transported the ladies back in time to the stylish 1930’s.

PC Bailey was on hand to lead the murderous investigation and with much help from the ladies who worked in teams was finally able to work out whodunnit how and why.

I think its fairly safe to say Fern and the ladies had a fabulous fun time as did 1st call murder mystery’s actors who look forward to their next murderous adventure in
historic Bath.
